Camera lenses keep evolving along with technology.
But precisely because of that, why not
choose a vintage lens
for a change?
This time, I shot with one of the classic vintage lenses,
the Pentax SUPER-TAKUMAR 55mm F1.8.
What did you think?
Doesn't it have a nostalgic look that modern lenses can't achieve?
That's the charm of vintage lenses!!
Vintage lenses have no autofocus, so you have to focus by hand, which might seem really inconvenient…
But…
That's exactly what's great about them!!!
In video production you need to control focus freely anyway, so manual focus isn't a drawback!
*On film sets, there's even a dedicated person who pulls focus: the focus puller.
Vintage lenses are also often used in filmmaking, and many of them deliver beautiful rendering that holds its own against modern lenses.
Why not try making a video with a vintage lens at least once?
